Anchor investors

Before opening, Jio Platforms raised about Rs 8,110 crore from 212 anchor investors at Rs 1,119 per share on 19 October, according to Moneycontrol. Global funds such as BlackRock, Capital Group and Fidelity took part, along with Indian mutual funds and insurers including LIC.

Why is Jio raising money?

Most of the money, about Rs 27,500 crore, will be used to repay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm, Jio’s telecom company. The rest is for general corporate purposes. At the top of the price band, analysts quoted by Business Standard put Jio Platforms’ value at around Rs 10.3 lakh crore.

Jio IPO GMP

The grey market premium (GMP) is an unofficial price that traders quote before listing. Business Today reported a GMP of about Rs 240 to Rs 250 on the last day, down from about Rs 280 on day one. GMP is not regulated and often changes, so do not treat it as a guaranteed listing price.

How to check Jio IPO allotment status

  1. Wait for allotment to be finalised (expected 26 October).
  2. Open the registrar KFin Technologies’ IPO allotment page, or the BSE or NSE allotment status page.
  3. Select Jio Platforms, then enter your PAN, application number or demat account number.
  4. If shares are allotted, they appear in your demat account by 27 October; if not, the blocked amount is released.

What the Jio IPO means for JioTV and Jio users

For everyday users, nothing changes right away. Your Jio SIM, JioFiber and apps like JioTV keep working with the same plans. JioHotstar is run by JioStar, a separate Reliance and Disney company, so it is not part of this IPO. Where can I buy Jio IPO?

During the bidding window, investors applied through a stock broker app or net banking using a demat account, with payment blocked through UPI or ASBA. Bidding is now closed, so from the listing day on 28 October you can buy Jio Platforms shares on NSE or BSE through any SEBI-registered broker, like any other listed share.

Is Reliance Jio IPO good?

We do not give investment advice. Demand was strong: the issue was about 5.7 times subscribed by the morning of the last day, institutional investors bid more than 13 times their quota, and anchor investors such as BlackRock and LIC took part. On the other side, analysts valued Jio Platforms at about Rs 10.3 lakh crore, roughly 33 times FY26 earnings. Whether it suits you depends on your goals and risk appetite, so read the prospectus and speak to a SEBI-registered adviser.

Can I buy Jio shares before IPO?

Before listing, Jio shares could only be traded through unofficial unlisted-share dealers, which carry high risk and are not regulated like stock exchanges. The safe routes are applying during the IPO or buying on NSE or BSE after listing on 28 October. Be careful of WhatsApp or Telegram offers selling “pre-IPO Jio shares”; these are often scams.

What is the Jio IPO price band?

The price band is Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share, with a lot size of 12 shares.

When is the Jio IPO listing date?

Jio Platforms shares are expected to list on NSE and BSE on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

How do I check Jio IPO allotment status?

After allotment on 26 October, use the KFin Technologies allotment page or the BSE/NSE IPO status pages with your PAN or application number.

Is the Jio IPO the biggest IPO in India?

At about Rs 30,200 crore, it is larger than Hyundai Motor India’s Rs 27,870 crore IPO in 2024, which was the previous record.

Does the Jio IPO change JioTV or Jio recharge plans?

No. The IPO is about raising money for the company. Plans and apps continue as before; any changes would be announced separately by Jio.
